
Rachel awoke the next morning to the soft rays of sunlight filtering through the curtains, warming her skin. As she stretched, her mind wandered to the events of the previous day. The thought of Liam and his captivating presence made her pulse quicken. She shook her head, trying to dispel the flutter of excitement that coursed through her.
“Get a grip, Rachel,” she whispered to herself, pulling on a robe before heading downstairs. She needed to keep her distance from Liam; after all, he was her husband’s employee.
